Key Art Update

When I joined Fish World, I was very surprised to find out that our key art was nearly 7 years old. I spearheaded the initiative to update our key art and finally give our Fan Page an excuse to use #NewProfilePic.

One thing that was important to me was that players felt like they were involved with this decision, so I included them every step of the way:

  • Polling players on what hair/outfit they would like to see represented

  • Giving our players the chance to name the mermaid and vote on the final selections

Players were then rewarded for their efforts by being granted a free asset of the new mermaid, Oceanna, in game. This event was a great success and pulled in stakeholders from both Art, Content, Product, and Community. Oceanna has also captured the hearts of our players and has already spawned two new assets in Fish World!

FLASH WAS DYING

Shortly after joining Big Viking Games, Fish World began it's conversion to HTML5 as the platform it had lived on for the past decade plus (Flash) was becoming obsolete.

YoWorld Crossover

I conceptualized and acted as a key stakeholder in the first crossover event between Big Viking Games two titles, YoWorld and Fish World. This event provided each game's fanbase the opportunity to play another game with a goodie bundle. My two main goals were:

  1. Increased Daily Active Players (DAU) on both games

  2. Engagement and click throughs on post content

This campaign required a great deal of organization as it included stakeholders on both game titles. Major responsibilities included:

  • Creating copy and social images for both games

  • Coordinating with both game's Content teams to develop new assets and create in-game promotions

  • With the assistance of YoWorld Community Managers, track KPIs of the event over the course of it's release.

This event was a major success, with many players making new connections across games. Over the course of the campaign, we saw an increase in DAU by 13% and over 500+ comments and and average of 811 link clicks per post.
